April 4th, 2007 : Designing My Door Panels

I'm starting to design my door panels. At this writing, all ideas are in my head only ... I want to create a great design before I start fabricating and I'm not sure if I'm going to go with a 2-color scheme (black & cream elk) or a 3-color scheme (adding some burgundy colored leather into the picture).

So ... here's my first idea for a 2-color scheme:

2-Color Panel Scheme

Update: April 7th:
Here's my second idea (a 3-color scheme). The truck is going to be painted this Spring which means I'll be waiting to get a paint-swatch from the painter before I buy a burgundy-colored hide (probably bison) and fabricate these panels, but here's the scheme with burgundy added -- I'll probably be doing this scheme because it's the only way I can think of keeping hands away from the cream elk which would get dirty easily and be difficult to clean. P.S. -- My good friend Dan, at Dan's Upholstery & Auto Trim, helped me get the shape of the burgundy panel happening:

Update: April 13th:
Here's my third idea (3-color scheme). My good friend Dan, at Dan's Upholstery & Auto Trim, tells me we can match a paint-swatch of the burgundy color of the truck to a dye that can be applied to elk leather! This is great news because it means I can have elk that is the exact color of the truck -- way cool!
