May 15th, 2003 : Edelbrock Carburetor
The Rochester Quadrajet carburetor that came with my truck was not only old and tired looking, but wasn't very much fun to play with and was acting kinda sluggish.
Here's another shot of it from the other side, showing the electric choke ... taken while I was rewiring the engine compartment :
Ever since 1970, when I installed a Holley on my 1954 Ford 2-door Ranchwagon (affectionately known as "Blue") ... and again in 1996, when I installed another Holley in my 1979 El Camino ... I've wanted to have an Edelbrock carburetor. They have a better rep for being easier to adjust and setup and requiring less attention than a Holley does and they sure are a lot better looking, if you ask me!
Considering my 350 Chevy small block engine, combined with it's Edelbrock Performer intake manifold, I decided to keep things "family oriented" and bought an Edelbrock Performer #1406 600 CFM 4bbl carburetor with an electric choke :
Ooh, yeah! Ain't she purty? Sure makes me smile whenever I pop the hood ... or whenever I stomp on the gas.
