May 9th, 2005 : Painting My Gas Tank
I went to my mom's last week and after parking my truck I glanced at the gas tank and realized I needed to do something -- it looked horrible!
So, today I backed it up onto my ramps, wire brushed the tank and prepped it for painting.
I didn't want to use regular paint ... I wanted a textured look, like the look of a vinyl truck bed liner. So I went to Wal-Mart and bought a can of
Dupli-Color Truck Bed Coating for $7.00 ... they say the more coats you apply, the more texture you get, so I thought I'd just use the whole can and see how that worked. Now that I'm finished, I think two cans would have been better, but I'm satisfied.
You can see the difference ... well worth the hour or two I spent!
