The New Testament Is In the Old Testament Concealed
The Old Testament Is In the New Testament Revealed
In authoring all the books of the Bible, the Holy Spirit has encoded many hidden revelations to be discovered by "those with eyes to see" ... below are examples of just some of those wonderful discoveries.
The Book of Ruth
Kinsman Redeemer:
Boaz
= Jesus Christ
Gentile Bride:
Ruth
= Church
Widow:
Naomi
= Israel
Liaison:
Unnamed Servant
= Holy Spirit
Time of Darkness:
Threshing Floor Scene
= Great Tribulation
As can be seen in the comparisons above, the Holy Spirit has drawn some amazing parallels! In the Book of Ruth, an unnamed servant introduces Ruth to Boaz, just as an unnamed servant, the Holy Spirit, introduces the Church to Christ ... after being exiled, Naomi (a widow) learns of Boaz from Ruth, and is returned from exile by the acts of Boaz -- just as Israel (Yahweh's "widow"), who has been exiled for thousands of years, learns of Christ from the Church and is finally relieved from exile by the acts of Christ ... and during the threshing floor scene, Ruth is at the feet of Boaz, just as, during the Great Tribulation, the Church is in Heaven with Christ.
Daniel - Chapter 3
Time of Darkness:
Fiery Furnace
= Great Tribulation
Kept Safely Through:
Shadrach, etc.
= Israel/Saints
Not Present:
Daniel
= Church
In Daniel 3:10-30, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego are placed into a fiery furnace. Because of their faith, they go through the flames and come out of the ordeal unscathed. Where was Daniel at the time? After all, this whole ordeal was set up to get him ... and, throughout the story, he's no where to be found! Just as Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego -- or, more appropriately, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah -- are kept safe through the flames, Israel and the saints will be kept safe through the Tribulation ... and just as Daniel was not around during this time of trial, the Church will not be on the earth during the Time of Wrath.
Genesis 19:22
In Genesis 19:22, two angels have come to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah ... but, apparently, they will not bring destruction upon the cities until Lot is safely out of the way. I believe this is yet another example placed in the Scriptures by the Holy Spirit to reveal a greater secret to us; the hour of God's wrath will not be unleashed until the Church is safely out of the way.
Genesis - Chapters 5 & 6
Time of Darkness:
The Flood
= Great Tribulation
Safe Through the Trib:
Noah
= Israel/Saints
The Rapture:
Enoch
= The Church
In Genesis 5:24 we see that Enoch was raptured before the Great Flood ... just as the Church will be raptured before the Great Tribulation. Following, in Genesis Chapter 6, we see the account of the flood, where Noah and his family were kept safe through the great flood ... just as those who have the seal of God -- Israel and the saints -- will be kept safe through the Great Tribulation.
Genesis - Chapter 24
The Groom:
Isaac
= Christ Jesus
The Bride:
Rebekah
= The Church
Liaison:
Eliezer
= The Holy Spirit
From "Calvary" to Rapture:
Isaac absent
= Christ absent
In Genesis 24 we have the wonderful love story of Isaac and Rebekah, modeling a much more wonderful love story of Christ and His Church. Once again, the Holy Spirit draws some amazing parallels between an unnamed servant -- revealed as Eliezer (which means Comforter) in Genesis 15:2. Isaac sends Eliezer to get his Gentile bride (Rebekah), just as Christ sent the Holy Spirit to gather His Gentile bride (the Church) ... Rebekah is brought to Isaac by Eliezer, just as the Church is brought to Christ by the Holy Spirit ... Rebekah is brought to Isaac before Isacc returns, just as the Church is brought (raptured) to Christ before he returns! Is this getting to you yet? LOL! In Genesis 24:22, Eliezer gives gifts to Rebekah, just as the Holy Spirit gives gifts to the Church ... and in Genesis 24:55, Rebekah decides and never returns, just as the Church (those who have also "decided") is raptured to Heaven and remains! And, as if that wasn't enough, Isaac's name doesn't appear in the Scriptures from "Calvary" (in Genesis 22:19) until he meets his bride, just as Christ doesn't appear again until He comes for His bride; the Church. Note: The very hill, where Abraham was to sacrifice Isaac, is the very hill where Christ was crucified.
