If you haven't been studying the Bible and want to begin doing so, I urgently encourage you to find a Bible study group in your area ... or start one in your own house!
Home Bible studies are becoming increasingly popular. Many people across America are tired of not hearing the teachings of the Bible in their local churches and are turning to the Word of God itself through home study groups ... and with great satisfaction.
And rightly so -- after all, that's how they did it in the first place! We often think of "church" as a building where people gather every Sunday ... but the Church that Paul speaks of is a group of people, not a brick and mortar building. There weren't any Christian "churches" back in the days when the Apostles were writing the books of the New Testament. For some 300 years after Jesus Christ left this earth and went to sit at the right hand of the Father, people simply gathered together in their homes and discussed the oracles of God; the Word of Yahweh and the teachings of Yahshua ha Mashiach -- Jesus Christ.
If you're single and looking for a new way of partying that isn't as destructive or as meaningless as what's generally available ... if you're looking to make friends with others who aren't the self-seeking types that you find in night clubs or at most parties, a Bible study group will certainly get you around the kinds of people who are sincere about their relationship with you and can help others you already know to become more sincere, as well!
If you're a married man, according to the Scriptures, you're the Spiritual Head of your house and responsible for instructing your wife and your children in the ways of our Father. What better way is there to teach your children proper morals and good sense ... and what better way is there to nourish your marriage, than to set the example yourself by sharing the principles of our Maker with your household? A home Bible study is not only a great way to acheive that, but also a wonderful way to spend time together on a regular basis, getting your family members to open up to each other and to bond in the most remarkable ways.
What's that? Did I just hear you say that you don't know enough to teach the Bible? Well, don't let that stop you! You don't need to know anything ... all you need is a Bible and the Holy Spirit. If you sit down with your family ... with the intention of obeying your Father by teaching His Word to them ... rest assured -- He is going to surprise you with how faithful He can be! Just begin your Bible study with a prayer to the Father ... ask for the annointing of His Holy Spirit to guide you and to reveal the things to you and yours that He would have revealed ... and then watch what happens -- you'll be amazed every time!
