Alan Horvath: Vocal | Gibson Hummingbird Guitar | '66 Hohner Marine Band Harmonica
I started writing this song in 1990 ... and it had three or four different sets of lyrics and titles before it finally settled into this statement, which was inspired by a whirlwind (named Lois) that blew through my life in Nashville, Tennessee.
This song is rather hard to talk about, so I'll let it speak for itself.
I have this ancient Hohner harmonica (it's a larger sized harmonica, in the key of G) that I bought way back in 1966 ... I pulled it out of an old, old box and brought it into the studio just for this recording. I love playing harmonica, though, lately, it's rare that I do ... but anyway, I wanted to show off the beautiful timber this instrument has garnered over 30 years time, and Circle of Fire was the perfect song for it.
