"Cryin' Vein" was written April 1st, 1991
at my house in Nashville, Tennessee

From the Nebraska Ave. CD :
Recorded 1992 at Alan's house in Nashville, Tennessee
Alan Horvath: Vocal | 1968 Gibson Hummingbird Guitar

It was just one of those I'm-playing-hooky-today kind of days.   I didn't feel like communicating with or seeing anyone, so I turned on my phone machine ... set the ringer to the "off" position ... put on some coffee ... decided not to shave ... and wrote this song.

This song wasn't about anyone in particular, so much as anyone and everyone, on that kind of a day.   I was in one of those phases where you feel like nothing is happening -- we've all been there ... frustrated by life's uncooperative attitudes ... waiting for something to get going while you sit there, in the calm before the storm.   Sometimes, there's just nothing you can do.
